Our Vision

Solid Rock Discipleship seeks to help Christians build their lives on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ so they, in turn, can affect lasting change for the kingdom of God in their lives, their churches and their community. We are devoted to being a catalyst through which individuals, ministries and churches are encouraged, supported, challenged and equipped to become all that God has destined for them.

There are thousands of believers in churches today, but few true disciples. Our vision is to see people move from being mere converts and casual Christians into committed disciples for Christ. We aim to facilitate this transformation within a dynamic culture through:

·         A retreat setting – We will establish a ministry locale that will facilitate the intimate, small group, intensive trainings and discipleship in a comfortable, home-like environment. Great transformation can take place when we withdraw from the hectic pace of daily life to relax, clear our minds of the clutter, and focus on God.

·         Small group sessions – The small group dynamic is modeled after the example of Jesus, whose primary training method was ongoing intimate and personal conversations with his disciples, teaching them the practical principles of the kingdom as they lived life together. Therefore our retreats, seminars and events will largely be held for groups of 5-15 participants.

·         Online communities and trainings – After Jesus sent out his disciples, he would periodically reconnect with them for ongoing discipleship and accountability. We will utilize technological means to follow up with people and provide “in-the-field” training and accountability.

·         Articles and publications – These will be utilized to assist with ongoing spiritual growth and skill development.

SRD retreats and events will provide a time and place for…

·         REFRESHING – We seek to provide a place where people can get away from the stresses and responsibilities that dominate their thinking and their time, knowing that during this time of rest, God can most effectively minister to them in body, mind and spirit.

·         REFLECTING – An atmosphere will be created to help people focus on personal and spiritual matters so that they can step into the fullness that God has for them.

·         REVIVING – Life has a way of draining our energy and passions so we eventually lose sight of the things that matter and the things that fuel our lives. We begin to lose vision and “where there is no vision, the people perish.” We will assist people in rediscovering their passions so they can add focus to their lives.

·         RECLAIMING – We long to see people reclaim the purpose for their lives for which they were created. To lay claim to anything implies action on the part of the claimer. We will assist people in the development and implementation of plans necessary “to lay hold of that for which Christ laid hold of them.”

·         RENEWING – As we go through life, the busyness and time constraints often require us to let go of certain things. Far too often, our relationship with God is one of the first things that suffer. In everything we do as a ministry, encouraging and equipping people in their walk with God is of utmost importance.

Solid Rock Discipleship is a support ministry to the Bible-believing, God-fearing Church throughout New England, with all its different expressions, and will serve to benefit pastors and ministries through:

  • Pastoral and leadership support
  • Personal rest and prayer retreats
  • Outsourcing discipleship needs that exist within the local congregation
  • A venue for “small” church-sponsored retreats and trainings
  • A “common ground” to promote unity between churches in the region for the purpose of prayer, fellowship, edification, and networking.

We also serve to benefit individuals through:

  • Personal rest and prayer retreats
  • Encouragement and support
  • Mentoring services
  • Various discipleship opportunities in areas of life management, spiritual growth, ministry development and leadership training

We exist to serve the Church, but also for the community in which we live. Outreach events to our local community will be an ongoing part of the ministry as true discipleship begins long before people make a commitment to Christ.
